It figures that one of the best music events line up wise would result in the most entertaining live hiphop DVD that's ever been seen. From the behind the scenes footage to the performances and the extra features, nothing more could be asked of this great package.
Live sets come in the form of Kanye West, Dead Prez, The Roots, Talib Kweli & Mos Def and many more. The icing on the cake is the seven year reunion of the biggest hiphop group of all time, The Fugees. Lauryn Hill's performance of 'Killing Me Softly' is goose pimples material, reminding us of just how special the elusive artist is.
Dave Chappelle is utterly enjoyable to watch throughout, from recruiting its audience and rehearsing with the cast, to exploring the eccentric 'Broken Angel' house outside which the historic day took place. Of recent years, there have been few significant moments which can be assured to hold their own in hiphop culture's history books. This is easily one of them. If real hiphop's your thing, so should this be.
