S. Kalibre- The High Kalibre Mixtape

September 17th, 2006

Providing a variety of tracks which include the likes of Dr. Syntax, Apocraphe, Genesis Elijah and many more, S. Kalibre delivers his debut mix CD which is comprised of almost thirty tracks. The hosting by Blade gets pretty irritating by track four, and the quality levels of the material is pretty varied, but there's enjoyable moments which fans of Hard Livin' are sure to enjoy.

Questionable inclusions is a track over a 50 Cent beat which follows a diss of the G-Unit leader. There's also a line arguing that 8 Mile wasn't where hiphop started, which is a notion I don't think anyone runs with. 'United Animal Kingdom' and 'Hiphop Resuscitation' are easily the standout tracks whilst the Manage feature of 'Freedom' is also worth playback. Out on Hard Livin' Entertainment, this could have done with a bit more quality control, but it's a nice effort never the less.
